To The Vulture

I cried, I begged, to the vulture on my knees
“Please don't go, not so soon!”
She inclined her head and said to me
“There is flesh to rip and bones to break
The sun is setting, I must away!”

I clung, I grasped, at the vulture with my hands
“Please don't go, not so soon!”
She lifted her head and screeched at me
“There are eyes to gouge and hearts to break
The sun is setting, I must away!”

Essence

Essence: leaking
This heart seems to remain
The face: bleeding
These teeth seem to remain

Essence: glowing
It falls like tears from a hollow face
The face: recoiling
It moves a like an old dog in a race

Essence: seeping
Into her cream-like crystal-like dreams
The face: blinded
By smoke rising above into far ancient beams

Essence: creeping
Into her features her creatures her death
The face: speaking
Into her ears her fears drinking up her breath

Essence: falling
Straight down away into the dark places
The face: melting
Dripping onto my secret hallowed places

Essence: dripping
Onto her breast and her broken form
The face: hiding
From her tragic blue eyes once so warm

Essence: congealing
On her smooth pale skin on her breast
The face: blood blushing
Breath stirring the waves in her warm nest

Essence: evaporating
Away in the air not letting her rise
The face: now leaning
On her stomach hearing her pulsing prize

Essence: fabricating
A connection more than flesh can afford
The face: selflessly
Watching wearing a mask not so abhorred

Essence: now remaining
Where it should not have ever been found
The face: beholding
Staring intently at the tomb the hole in the ground

Essence: fermenting
A wine no woman can swallow always it burns
The face: raw bleeding
A blood no man can truly taste because he never learns

Essence: discoloring
Her skin so pale so scarlet let her lie alone
The face: autonomous
Of her now ready await the end sinking into bone

But this heart seems to remain....

My star, my star, return to me.
My star, my star, I searched for you and did not find you
My star, my star, you once shown down on me
It was you! It was you! It was you I loved when you did not love me too
It was me! It was me! It was me that bled when you did not smile at me
My star, my star, you once shown down on me
My star, my star, I spoke to you and did not hear
My star, my star, return to me.
