Aphrodite's Tears

Much can be said with silence
It's how I bear my pestilence

I've said her name a thousand times
And I'll scream it one thousand more
I've lived in the cold dark for too long
And I won't take this silence anymore

Much can be shown through inaction
It's how I feed my addiction

I've never had a shoulder to cry on
Aphrodite's tears will fall like Summer rain
I've lived in the cold and dark for too long
I am done enduring, I am done accepting this pain

I am shedding my skin, like Autumn leaves
Brilliant and cold, falling away
I am muffling my voice, like Winter snows
Cold and silent, filling an ashtray

Much can be said with silence
It's how I keep my balance

I've seen her dance a thousand times
And I can't hear her voice anymore
I've lived in the cold dark for too long
And I won't turn her into a whore

Much can be shown through inaction
It's how I taste her bright essence

I've never felt her soul in my hands
Aphrodite's tears will fall like Summer rain
I've lived in the cold dark for too long
I am done living like this, I am done being sane

I am shedding my skin, like Autumn leaves
Brilliant and cold, falling away
I am burning my throat, like a Summer breeze
Dry and infernal, comes the Devil's Day

Much can be said with silence
It's how I bear her presence
